Distinguished Alumnae Awards
This fall as part of the celebration of Seton Keough’s 20th anniversary, we will launch a Distinguished Alumna Award program. There will be three awards presented – one for each of the Seton, Archbishop Keough, and Seton Keough schools. In our summer issues of Seton Keough News and Alumlines, we will provide more information on the nomination process, but ask you to start thinking now of alumnae you feel are deserving of the award. Criteria will include: loyalty to Seton, Archbishop Keough, and/or Seton Keough High School; leadership in her chosen career or volunteer setting; leadership in her community; strength of character; inspiration for other young women; and supportive of Seton Keough High School. To volunteer to participate on the 20th Anniversary Committee, which will choose the winners in addition to planning other anniversary events, please contact Tracey Stone, Director of Alumnae, at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.

Archbishop Keough Spirit Room & Reunion Day: A Great Success
The Archbishop Keough Spirit Room — a room of Keough memorabilia — was unveiled at Archbishop Keough Reunion Day on March 30th and dedicated in honor of Sr. Mary Earle Doohan. The turnout was incredible and included both alumnae and past and present faculty. Many thanks to everyone who attended and to all who worked hard to get the room ready. The room is a work in progress and we welcome anyone who wants to help with the room – including folks who are talented in the areas of sewing and scrapbooking. Contact Sharon Knisely at sharonknisely@comcast.net or 443-956-2461 if you can help.

Seton

Edith Kratzmeier Sullivan S'42
My granddaughter Sarah Sullivan is graduating from Seton Keough in May of 2008. She has done very well in a great school. I am so proud of her.

Katherine Clifton Dukehart S'42
I enjoyed going to the annual visit to the Basilica in Emmitsburg and the delicious lunch at Hickory Bridge Farm. Classmates Sr. Celeste (Mabel Donahue), Sr. Mary Ann Bozel and Sr. Annina Sharper and Marge Miller were also present. Sr. Mary Claire Hughes another classmate was visited in the infirmary after having a surgical procedure. She is doing well.

Mary Crook Dilworth S'44
I continue to enjoy the learning and social experiences at the Renaissance Institute at the College of Notre Dame in Maryland.

Sylvia Lawton Hill S'46
My family consists of six daughters and five sons and now 24 grandchildren. I am recovering from heart surgery. In April I was discharged from the hospital. After several days at the home of one of my daughters (Dette), I returned to my apartment. My children's dad has a serious health problem and has developed leukemia. So please pray for all of us. Thank you.

Audrey Duerr Rost S'46
From Audrey's husband: Audrey is suffering from Alzheimers and several mini strokes. She is unable to speak and can only walk short distances with assistance. Please keep her in your prayers. We have been married 51 years and I am convinced that she is my own personal angel.

Teresa Lisle Warren S'48
It has always been a great blessing and I had many spiritual experiences while I attended Seton High School. Because of being the 12th of 15 children, my parents could not afford to send me to a Catholic high school. So the pastor in my parish (Sr. Cecilia, Msg. Mackassey) was good enough to designate a financial scholarship to me. He also chose my younger sister Evelyn Lisle Ebaugh to receive the scholarship the following year.

Mary Teresa Cortis Shaw S'48
I am the grandmother of 4; great grandmother of 3 (the greatest blessings!). I am the music director of Saint Rita's church, planning liturgies and am an organist. I am the education chairperson of the Women's Club of Dundalk. I volunteer at North Point Country Library. I am the leader of the baby boosters reading program and leader of the library adult book club.

Joan Bayline Ryan S'51
I am still employed part-time at Mercy hospital and some of my classmates are patients there and I stop to say hi. I lost my husband in Sept. of 2001, just two days before our 50th wedding anniversary. This October I became a first-time great grandmother. Her name is Kaitlyn Elizabeth Bird and she is the love of our family.

Jean Skarupa Hentschel S'49
A few of my classmates have moved into St. Elizabeth Hall at Stella Maris. We are having so much fun reuniting and remembering. Thank you, we love Seton.

Delores Elsner Manley S'52
I recently celebrated our 54th anniversary. Harry and I have seven children and have been blessed with 15 grandchildren all of whom live in the area. Thanks to my fine Seton education, although retired now, I spent 25 years as a chief financial officer for two companies. God has been good to us.

Carole Lefaivre-Rochester S'54
Our daughter Marne Rochester and granddaughters who live in Jerusalem are visitors to the United States this summer.

Audrey Bristow Yzaguirre S'56
I can't believe it has been over 50 years since I graduated from Seton. I have mostly been a stay-at-home Mom, doing periods of secretarial work. I went back to school and earned my Associate of Arts degree in General Studies in 1993. My husband Raul retired in 2004 from his civil rights job as president of the National Council of La Raza. Since then, he has worked for the Arizona State University in community development. I live with him part of the time in Phoenix, Arizona. My job now, besides being a grandma to eight and mother to six is taking care of my 96-year-old mother who travels with me between Maryland and Arizona. I also dearly love writing and working on having articles published. One day, I may return to earn my bachelors's degree. I believe tuition for me as a freshmen was $150 since I had a sister that was a senior. Wow! Much has changed.

Mary Anne Ellis Wilburn S'58
I am looking forward to attending the class of 1958's reunion.

Carolyn Cordle Stadfeld S'61
My grandchildren are attending Mt. St. Joseph and Mt. De Sales, Sacred Heart Glyndon, and Franklin High School. I am semi-retired, but I travel once a month for my job. I am a Call Center Instructor for AVAYA Communications. I am lucky enough to travel for my work to England, Germany, Budapest, Mexico, New Jersey, Colorado, and Dubai. I love to travel. My husband and I are going on a cruise this summer for my 65th birthday. We are flying to Venice, Italy and cruising to Turkey, Croatia, and Greece. I hope you are all happy and well.

Lisa Rajotte Wagner S’79
I am going to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary in September of 2008. I have two boys and a daughter, 15, 17, and 21. Josh will graduate from Kings College in 2009, Danielle (Dani) will graduate from NDP in 2008, and Zach from CHC in 2011. Dani will be attending the University of Deleware next year. We wish you all great success with the Annual Fund and keeping this school a wonderful experience for young women.

Seton Keough

Tracey Kelly Handler SK’92
After graduating from Gettysburg College in 1996, I moved to Washington DC and began working at an advertising agency. After years of working in advertising in both Washington and New York, I was transferred to London as an Account Director for Microsoft. I have now been living in London for more than 2 years with my husband Michael and regularly return to Baltimore to visit my family.

Jennifer Buterbaugh Byers SK'95
Jennifer and her husband Chad welcomed their first child, Carson Elliott, on January 24th, 2008. Jennifer continues to work for Legg Mason and the family resides in Ellicott City.

Kelly Grochmal SK’00
Since graduating Seton Keough, I’ve attended classes at CCBC, and for the past 3 years I’ve been working for the Corporate office at Erickson Retirement Communities. Everything has somewhat taken a backseat to my singing career. I have been singing since I graduated and have performed in a few bands and musical projects. I was fortunate enough to be able to sing for President Bush in 2003. Oddly enough it was Condoleezza Rice’s birthday party. Colin Powell, Laura Bush, and Alan Greenspan were also in attendance. My band was also very lucky to close a show for Lionel Ritchie this past September. I became engaged in September and plan to be married on Oct. 10, 2009.

Kelly O’Connell, Danielle Provance, and Megan Carver SK’04
Kelly, Danielle, and Megan play lacrosse at the University of Denver. They were featured in an article in the Baltimore Sun on April 16 about their outstanding play at the University of Denver and how they have played together since third grade.

Lindsey Shea SK’04 and Kerry Shea SK’05
The Shea sisters were both selected to the 2008 All-American Lacrosse Conference Team. You may read about it online at NCAA.com. They play for Penn State. Next year, sister Colleen, SK’08 will also be playing at Penn State.

Seton Keough Alum in the News
The May 8th edition of the Catholic Review features a story about a Seton Keough alumna, Caitlin Dunn, SK'02 who is working with the Peace Corps in Africa. Caitlin's focus has been to educate children in a remote village in Zambia. Caitlin is working to create a community resource center that will have a library for her students and children from other villages. If you would like to reach Caitlin to learn more about her work or see how you can help, please email her at caitdunn@gmail.com or her mother, Joan Dunn, at jgd701@aol.com.
