About Seton Keough
Philosophy
The Seton Keough High School is a fully accredited Archdiocesan secondary school for young women dedicated to excellence in education in light of the teachings of Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church. We endeavor to develop within students an appreciation of the past, an ability to respond positively to the opportunities of the present, and a personal responsibility to accept the challenges of the future. In a spirit of cooperation, the administration, faculty, staff, and students strive to foster a strong Christian community in which such an education can take place. We are supported in this endeavor by parents, alumnae, and the Board of Trustees.

Seton Keough celebrates the dignity and uniqueness of each young woman. We strive to create an atmosphere where she can develop true self-appreciation. She is encouraged to develop her values and decision-making skills guided by the light of the Christian vision. This enables her to witness to her faith, to respond to the needs of others with love and compassion and to work toward the solution of human problems.

We are especially dedicated to assisting our students discover and cherish their unique giftedness as women. We are committed to empowering our students to use their gifts as they assume a critical role in the Church and the world in which they live. We find essential to this empowerment a heart, mind, and soul willing and able to cultivate a deep reverence for self, for others, and for all of creation.

The educational process of Seton Keough promotes the maximum growth of the individual. The school identifies educational abilities and provides learning situations to meet varied needs. We urge each student to take the initiative in her learning, and to assume an increasing responsibility and accountability for her own work.

Committed to educating young women in a pluralistic society, we welcome diversity of culture, faith, and ability, while encouraging our students to work together for common goals. At Seton Keough, spiritual, emotional and social growth complement scholarship in the development of the total person. A variety of curricular and co-curricular opportunities and activities assist our students in their development. This unity of approach prepares students to understand and respond to changes occurring in the world. Ultimately, we prepare women who are ready to assume responsible, creative roles in the Church and the world of the 21st Century, realizing that Christ continues His work through them.
