Graduate Profile
A place of faith, inclusion, and academic success, Seton Keough graduates are well prepared for their futures. Learning in an all-girls, Catholic school, Seton Keough graduates have developed leadership skills and integrity integrating the teachings of their Catholic faith based on the charisms of the school’s founding orders: the Daughters of Charity and the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
A Seton Keough Graduate…
- Is a young woman who has grown in her faith and is able to integrate her Catholic heritage into the needs and complexities of the world into which she will become an adult.
- Is a young woman of honor and integrity and has developed a strong character and leadership abilities to stand up to injustice, dishonesty, and corruption.
- Is a young woman who has a compassionate heart. She has been exposed to new cultures, religions, and individuals from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and will use her many talents to reach out and serve others.
- Is a young woman who is confident in her intellectual abilities, is able to ask questions, speak up, and think independently.
- Is a young woman who has been enlightened with self-discovery and welcomes the opportunity to try new things and develop new talents and interests.
- Is a young woman who understands her academic successes are her own responsibility and will continue to be an active learner throughout her life.
Highlights from Spring 2008:
- Over 99 percent of the members of the Class of 2008 were accepted into college with one student electing to join the workforce.
- Sixty three students received a total of 195 scholarships.
- Total dollar amount offered in scholarships and grants: $6.2 million dollars.
- National Merit Scholarship Program—one Commended Scholar
- Eleven Maryland Distinguished Scholars
Complementing our academic credentials is an outstanding Fine and
Performing Arts Program:
- The Seton Keough Concert Band is the largest and most commended all-girls band in
the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
- The Theatre program produced a spectacular version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the fall and a wonderful rendition of Alice in Wonderland last spring. The theatre department also produced the Variety Show last February. In Fall 2008 the Theatre Department will produce Beauty and the Beast.
Athletic Highlights from 2007-2008:
- Seton Keough has 18 competitive teams in 12 different sports.
- Cross Country: ranked #7 by the Baltimore Sun.
- Indoor Track: IAAM Champion, ranked #1 by the Baltimore Sun.
- Basketball: IAAM Second-place, ranked #2 by the Baltimore Sun ranked #2 in the State of Maryland by USA Today.
- Outdoor Track: Finished 2nd in the IAAM Championship, ranked #2 by the Baltimore Sun
- Golf: finished Second in the IAAM Championship.
- Nineteen students were selected to IAAM All-Star teams.
All-Metro, All-City selections:
- Indoor Track Head Coach Jim Lancaster named All-Metro and All-City Coach-of-the-Year.
- Indoor Track: All-Metro Runner-of-the-Year and All-City Runner-of-the-Year: Erin Brooks. All-Metro Second Team: Colleen Shea, All-City First Team: Colleen Shea, Chelsea Tavik and Leila Forrester.
- Basketball: All-City Player-of-the-Year: B.J. Williams. All-Metro First Team: B.J. Williams, Aysa Bussie, and Ayana Lee.
- Outdoor Track: All-Metro Second Team: Erin Brooks. All-City First Team: Leila Forrester, Chelsea Tavik, and Megan Voorhees.
- Softball: All-City First-Team: Stephanie Martin and Taylor Kairos.
- Lacrosee: All-City First-Team: Colleen Shea
