Gator Highlights 2009 - 2010

Seton Keough's Athletes Accomplished the Following during the 2008-2009 school year:

  • Basketball: IAAM Champions, ranked #1 by the Baltimore Sun, and #12 in the country by MaxPrep. Won the Bishop Walsh Tournament in March beating the #1 team in the Washington, D.C. conference, Good Counsel. On Sun., April 5, the Seton Keough varsity basketball beat the #7-ranked team in the country, Riverdale Baptist, 44-42 to win the ESPN Rise Invitational Tournament. This was a national tournament of only four girls teams.
  • Indoor Track: Finished 2nd in the IAAM Championship.
  • Swimming: Finished 3rd in the IAAM 'B' Championship.
  • Cheerleading: Eastern Cheer and Dance Association (ECDA) Small Varsity National Champions.
  • Outdoor Track: Finished 2nd in the IAAM Championship.
  • Softball: IAAM 'A' Champions, ranked #2 by the Baltimore Sun.


All-Metro, All-City selections:

  • Volleyball: Sierra Myles All-City First Team.
  • Basketball: Senior Asya Bussie was selected the All-Metro Player of the Year in girls basketball by the Baltimore Sun and Coach Jackie Boswell was selected as the All-Metro Coach of the Year. Senior Katelyn Fischer and sophomore Amber Singletary were selected to the All-Metro Second Team. Asya and Coach Boswell were also selected All-City Player of the Year, and All-City Coach of the Year. Asya, Katelyn, and Amber were selected to the All-City First Team.
  • Indoor Track: Senior Chelsea Tavik was selected to the All-Metro First Team. Seniors Chelsea Tavik and Leila Forrester were selected to the All-City First Team.
  • Softball: Sophomore Megan Hyson was selected to the All-Metro First Team. Senior Carly Reed was selected to the All-Metro Second Team. Megan Hyson named the All-City Player of the Year. Coach Jackie Boswell named the All-City Coach of the Year. All-City First Team: Megan Hyson, Stephanie Martin, Courtney Cane, Kerri O'Malley, Carly Read, Robi Zimmerman, Taylor Kairos, and Bridget O'Malley.
  • Lacrosse: Junior Jen Mendez was named to the All-City First Team.
  • Track and Field: All City First Team: Leila Forrester, Amber Singletary, and Chelsea Tavik.

Other Athletic Honors

  • Asya Bussie: Baltimore Sun Player-of-the-Week for basketbal, Nov. 25.
  • Megan Hyson: Baltimore Sun Player-of-the-Week for softball, March 27.
  • Asya Bussie played and Coach Jackie Boswell coached at the McDonalds Roundball Classic Tournament in March.
