The Third Annual Kathleen Bowen Walk for Hope
The entire Seton Keough community held the Third Annual Kathleen Bowen Walk for Hope to honor the memory of Mrs. Kathleen Bowen, Seton Keough's Campus Minister from 2002 to 2007, to honor those suffering from terrible illness, and to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Some photos are available. There was no shortage of photographers throughout the day. As more photos become available they will be posted on the Photo Galleries web page and a link will be added to the Wednesday Update next week.

BOAST Maryland Tax Credit Bill Passes Committee, Now Help Push it to Passage in the Maryland State Senate
Please contact your state senator and urge them to vote for BOAST. BOAST would provide a tax credit to any company that makes a donation for scholarship programs for nonpublic schools or enrichment programs for public school students.

- Re-admission materials for 2010-2011: Re-admission packets are being mailed out this week to the home address of all current 9th to 11th graders. Please note that the re-admission deadline (to return completed forms and $200 fee) is Mon., March 29, 2010 - not March 16, 2010 as stated in the letter you will receive.
- Class of 2010: There are still a few seniors whose graduation fee has not been paid. Payment of this $150 fee was due on Feb 26th. If you are the parent of a senior and have not paid this fee, please do so immediately. Thank you!
Scrip News
As we are approaching the Easter break (Thurs., April 1 thru Fri., April 9) please be aware that we will not be accepting Scrip orders during that time. The Business Office will be placing the last Scrip order before the Easter break at 9 a.m. Fri., March 26 for delivery to our families at noon March 31. The next order after the Easter break will be 9 a.m. Mon., April 12. Also please be aware that if you are a family of a senior the last Scrip order for tuition credits must be made NLT March 26 or your credit will be applied toward the school General Scholarship Fund.

Seton Keough's Annual Spring Pep Rally will be held on Fri., March 12 at 1: 30 p.m. Please join the SK Community in celebrating its last Pep Rally of year. This is a very special event for our students for this is the time when we honor all Senior Athletes. Also, this will be the time where all Class Spirit Banners will be displayed and judged as to help us kick-off our "countdown" to Year Day. The Mother-Daughter Fashion Show on Sun., March 14 at 3 p.m. You May Purchase Your Tickets Online
It’s time again for our Annual Mother-Daughter Fashion Show. It is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sun., March 14, 2010 at Town and Country Caterers, 2319 Hammonds Ferry Rd. Come out for an awesome afternoon with your daughters and watch the Seniors and their moms strut their stuff!! The event is open to ALL Seton Keough students and their female family members. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction with lots of great items to bid on. Mandatory Music Parent Meeting on Mon., March 22 at 7 p.m.
There will be a mandatory meeting of all parents of students who will be attending the music trip on Mon., March 22 at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Extra Gator Pins from the Father-Daughter Dance Available
There are some extra pins from the Father/Daughter Dance available for purchase for all students. The pins ar $3 each. The girls may drop off $3 in an envelope at the front desk for the Parent Association, Attention: Tonja Stevens. First come, first serve. Students are allowed to wear the pins on their uniforms.

Trip to Spain for Summer of 2010
The Seton Keough High School is sponsoring an educational tour of Spain this summer. The tour will include stops in Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Figueres (Salvador Dali's hometown). Some of the activities we will experience include: sampling authentic Spanish cuisine, learning about the Spanish Civil War, learning what it takes to be a Matador, and learning about Flamenco dancing. PAA Basket & Bags Bingo on Sun. April 25, 2010
The Parent Athletic Association will be hosting a Basket and Bags Bingo on Sun., April 25, 2010 in the Seton Keough cafeteria. Doors will open at 12:30, games will start at 2. All prizes are theme-filled Longaberger Baskets and Vera Bradley Bags. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Tickets include 20 games of bingo and a door prize ticket. Specials, raffles, 50/50 game and concessions will be available. Catholic Composer/Performer John Angotti Concert on Sun., April 25 at 7 p.m.
Contemporary Catholic composer/performer John Angotti will be performing live at The Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr., Ellicott City (just off Rte 40 and Hiway 29 in Howard County) on Sun., April 25 at 7 p.m. General Admission tickets are $8 for youth under 18, $10 for all adults, and will go on sale soon; information on ordering tickets will be provided when tickets go on sale. John Angotti performed at the Papal Mass in Washington DC in 2008. His works are included in hymnals used by congregations around the world. Mt. St. Joseph Annual Fashion Show on Sun., April 25 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Mount Saint Joseph High School Mothers’ Club will host its 44th annual Fashion Show entitled, “Down by the Sea” on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the BWI Airport Marriott. This year’s show features fashions from Paris Couture Wedding & Dress Boutique, as well as tuxedos from Cy’s of Catonsville. Cost is $45 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres, luncheon, and dessert. There is also a silent auction, gift and gourmet basket raffle, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. Seton Keough Yard Sale on Sat., May 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It's time for that spring cleaning! The Mothers Club will be sponsoring a Yard Sale on Sat., May 1st from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be first come first serve for spaces, there will be no reserved spaces. So if you want that prime spot, make sure you're there early. The cost is $10.00 for a 8' by 10' space and you will need to bring your own tables, the Mothers Club will not provide tables.Set up will be NO EARLIER THAN 6:30 a.m. and NO LATER than 7:50 a.m. and no one will be allowed to enter to set up after that, no exceptions.There will be no use of cars, trucks or any other vehicle to sell your things, you must unload your vehicle and then move it to the parking lot. The Fathers Club will be directing cars after you unload to the parking lot as well as directing traffic coming in. The yard sale will be in Gator Circle and be on both sides on the grass, not in the road.

Seton Keough Cookbook Cover Contest:
Entries Are Due by Fri., May 7
The Mothers Club will be putting together a Seton Keough Cookbook and is having a contest open to students to design the cover. The winner will receive a free cookbook and their design will be printed on the cover. This is a great opportunity for girls to show their creativity. All entries must be received no later than Friday, May 7th in order to be accepted. The judging will be done by the Mothers Club and will take place at the next meeting on Tuesday, May 11th. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, May 12th. Girls are to submit their entries for the cover to the front office to Ms. Fran where Debbie Balles, who is coordinating the project, will pick them up on a weekly basis. Please put your name, email address (or parents email addess) and telephone number on the back and not the front, so that she can contact you to confirm your entry. Your name is not to be a part of the cover design. The cover can be in color or black and white, and you can chose any medium. The design must be an original, no copyright artwork will be accepted. We have a template for you to download and print off for you to use. It will be a hardback cover so please follow the outline for hardback. Artwork needs to be within 1/4 inch boundary of the hardback cover layout and have a 1/2 inch left margin. The design must incorporate the Seton Keough emblem somewhere within the design. You don't need to draw it, just draw a square and indicate that this is where you want the emblem to appear and we'll make sure that it is added to the final design.
Recommended guidelines for artwork:
Sharp black ink drawings
Black and white line art using a quality laser printer
Digital photos saved as .JPG files at 300 dpi
Photoshop or Illustrator saved at 300 dpi
DO NOT submit:
Artwork with screens or grays
Color laser, dot matrix or ink jet printouts

Newspaper/magazine photos
Ink jet or laser printed photos
Copyrighted photos or artwork

If you have any questions regarding what is recommended or not recommended in the way of the artwork, please contact the coordinator of the project, Debbie Balles at dwballes3@verizon.net. We will also be asking for students, parents, faculty, and alumni of all three schools to submit recipes to be included in the cookbook. We're hoping that this will be a collaborative effort and give a chance for everyone to contribute and be a part of the cookbook. We will have information about ordering the cookbooks as well as information on how to submit recipes, so please check the Wednesday Update. Thanks and good luck to all the girls!
Seton Keough License Plates
The Seton Keough Alumnae Association is sponsoring an exciting new way to show the pride you feel being a member of the Seton Keough High School community a Seton Keough license plate! The Maryland-only license plate will feature a green Seton Keough logo and 4 numbers, with the words "Seton Keough High School" along the bottom. We need to have a minimum order of 25 for the MVA to create the license plate. Cost for the first 25 plates ordered is $25 each; after the initial order, the cost will be $40, with proceeds going to the Annual Fund. Please see the order form for more information.

- Join the Scrip Distribution List: If you would like to receive regular updates about Seton Keough's SCRIP program, including e-flyers or sale notices, please send your email address to Brian Zongker, Seton Keough's Director of Finance at bzongker@setonkeough.com.
- Scrip has been moved into the Business Office. Orders may be placed during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) each school day. The cut-off for orders is Monday at 9 a.m. and cards will be ready for pick-up Friday morning at 8 a.m.
