Seton Keough to Launch a New Science Curriculum in the Fall of 2009
The Seton Keough High School will offer an exciting new science and engineering curriculum in partnership with St. Agnes Hospital, the Knott Foundation, the France-Merrick Foundation, and other corporations to be announced. This initial year, the program will be available to members of the class of 2012 and 2013. The curriculum will have two tracks: Engineering and Biomedical Sciences. This dynamic program uses hands-on, and real-world problems to engage and challenge students. Both tracks will prepare students for future study in college and will teach them about prospective careers in engineering and numerous medical fields. Seton Keough will be working with Project Lead the Way, a non-profit organization that promotes the study of science and technology in middle and high schools. Project Lead the Way provides specific curriculum components and professional development for teachers.

Support Seton Keough’s Annual Fund
Earlier this week we held our annual phon-a-thon with students calling alumnae asking for donations. This year more than ever the Seton Keough High School needs your support. Gifts to the school's Annual Appeal provide immediate assistance for the school's financial needs. If we missed you this week, you can still make a donation to the annual fund. Seton Keough now has a secure, online server where you can make your gift with a credit card. You may designate your gift by directing it to a specific fund or department or make it undesignated so it can be used where it is needed most. You will receive an e-mail notification that your donation has been received. It is fast and easy! Call the Office of Advancement at (410) 646-4444 if you need assistance or have questions. If you prefer to mail a check for your donation, send it to Seton Keough High School, Attn: Advancement Office, 1201 Caton Ave., Baltimore MD 21227. Be sure to include your name (first-maiden-last), address, phone and email as well as your school and grad year. Thank you for your support.

  • Career Day Deemed Great Success
Career Day 2009 assembled 22 impressive and enthusiastic alumnae to share their career journeys with the students. The day began with a luncheon for the alumnae guests followed by a short introductory program that emphasized to the students the importance of taking advantage of all opportunities. The second half of the afternoon allowed students to choose two career fields about which they wanted to learn more. Each 35-minute session was an informal setting with the alumnae-anchored panels describing their career fields and the students asking questions. Career fields presented included journalism, medicine, law, lobbying, engineering, finance, development/event planning, nutrition, information technology, aviation, military, education, and sports/athletics.
