Seton Keough in the News
- Last week the Seton Keough community came together to hold its first Walk-a-Thon in honor of Mrs. Kathleen Bowen the school's campus minister, who passed away last summer. After the passing of Mrs. Bowen, two Seton Keough students were diagnosed with cancer. The students of Seton Keough felt compelled to help their classmates through their difficult personal struggles. They also wished to find a way to honor the indelible memory of Mrs. Bowen. In response, members of the National Honor Society, Vincentian Youth Outreach Club, Student Council, and SALT (Serving and Leading by Teens), decided to organize a school-wide walk-a-thon to raise money for their classmates called “The Kathleen Bowen Walk for Hope. Students formed teams and gathered pledges for the walk. The walk was a huge sucess and raised over $20K for both families. WBAL TV in Baltimore was here to cover the story.

Archbishop Keough Spirit Room
The Archbishop Keough Spirit Room — a room of Keough memorabilia — is becoming a reality and will be unveiled at Archbishop Keough Reunion Day (see above). The Archbishop Keough Alumnae Association is working hard to develop this collection and is still need of worker-bees to help do the work. Craftiness, handiness a plus, but not required at all. Just bring your love for Archbishop Keough and you’ll fit right in. We are still seeking donations of memorabilia, curio cabinets/cases and shelving to display items, and meeting tables and chairs (all in good condition, please). Contact Sharon Knisely at sharonknisely@comcast.net or 443-956-2461.
Seton Keough Alumnae Directory
Seton Keough is now in the process of producing the 2008 Alumnae Directory. We are working with a company named Harris Connect and they have and will continue to contact alumnae from all 3 schools—Seton, Archbishop Keough, and Seton Keough—for updated information to include in the directory. We hope you will participate and respond promptly to the emails, postcards, questionnaires and/or calls from Harris Connect. Be aware that even if you’ve answered the questionnaire online, you will still need to speak to a Harris Connect representative to confirm the information and answer a few more questions. If you opt-out of being included in the directory, please make sure that the Alumnae Office has your updated address so you will continue to receive alumnae and reunion news. If you have any questions about the directory, contact Tracey Stone, Alumnae Director, at tstone@setonkeough.com.
Replacing School Rings
Several alumnae have contacted the Alumnae Office about replacing their lost class rings. It may be possible to get a better price if we place a large order. If you've lost your school ring (from any of the three schools) and are interested in replacing it, please contact Tracey Stone at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.
Chairperson for Seton Day Needed
The Seton Alumnae Association is looking for someone to chair this year’s Seton Day, scheduled for Sun., October 26, 2008. There are plenty of people willing to help with the planning, but a leader for the group is needed. If you have time to volunteer for this position or would like more information, please contact Pat Wallace at 410-515-2662 or pwallace@epfl.net. We hope to do some different things this year to make the already successful event even better.
Items Needed
- Dress forms or female mannequins are needed for displays at school. If you have one you can donate, please contact Tracey Stone, Director of Alumnae, at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.
- The Seton Alumnae Assn. Heritage Committee is seeking donations of yearbooks from 1945, 1965, and 1970 to complete the Heritage Room collection. Contact Edda Rosskopf at edda@rocketmail.com.
Attention: Seton Keough Class of 1991
The Alumnae Office is trying to locate Lijuan Adams in order to return something that belongs to her. If anyone keeps in contact with her, please contact or have her contact Tracey Stone at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.
Annual Appeal
If you haven't had a chance to make a contribution to this year's annual appeal, please consider making one now. Money raised from the annual appeal provides immediate assistance to the school's financial needs. Your goodness keeps alive the opportunity for hundreds of young women to develop their intellectual gifts, to expand their loving hearts, and to go forth as faithful servant leaders who can make a difference. You may download an Annual Appeal form from the Seton Keough Web site and mail to: Seton Keough High School, 1201 Caton Avenue, Baltimore, Md., 21227. Or you can make a donation with a credit card. Please call the Seton Keough Office of Advancement at (410) 646-4444 for more information. Thank you for your continued support of The Seton Keough High School.
Reunions
Is it a reunion year for you? Make plans to attend or even help out with the planning. A complete list of reunions is on the Seton Keough Web site. This list is updated on a regular basis. If there is no one listed and you’d like to volunteer to chair the event, contact Tracey Stone at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.
Alumnae Association Membership
Are you a member of your alumnae association? If not, well now’s the time to join! The mission of all three associations—Seton, Archbishop Keough, and Seton Keough—is to keep the spirit of the individual schools alive while supporting the needs and objectives of the school today. More information on each alumnae association can be found on the Seton Keough Web site.
