Give to Seton Keough Through The United Way
Does your employer expect you to give to The United Way? Choose to designate an organization close to your heart—Seton Keough High School! While SKHS is not listed by The United Way as an organization option, you can choose the school as the beneficiary of your gift by writing in Seton Keough and providing the school's Federal Tax ID#: 52-0810937. For more information, contact Agnes Nicholas, SK Director of Advancement, at anicholas@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1203. In addition to participating in the United Way, there are other ways to support Seton Keough through your purchases at Giant, EScrip, Staples, Office Depot, and Verizon. Complete details are available on the Seton Keough web site: Other Ways to Support Seton Keough.

Seton ’53 Challenge
In light of the fact that the Seton '53 class is not having a 55th reunion this year, Pat Sipes Shiflett S'53 is challenging her classmates to make a "non-reunion" donation to Seton Keough. Pat has kicked off the challenge with a $53 donation and invites others to donate the same or any other amount they can afford. Donations may be made by check payable to Seton Keough High School (indicate “Seton 1953” in the memo) and mailed to: Seton Keough High School, Attn: Office of Advancement, 1201 Caton Ave., Baltimore, MD 21227. Donations may also be made online at www.setonkeough.com. If donations from the class total $1000 or more, the class will receive a leaf on the school's Giving Tree located in the main lobby.

Alumnae B-Ball Players Wanted
This year’s alumnae basketball game (Jan ’09 date TBA) will be Archbishop Keough alumnae vs. Seton alumnae. Please contact Sharon Knisely (Keough) at sharonknisely@comcast.net or Barbara Wohlschlegel (Seton) at wohlbabs@hotmail.com to play. You did not have to be on the basketball team during high school to play, just an alumna wanting to have fun! If you’re not a player, please mark your calendar to come out and cheer on the teams.

Alumnae Awards
Don’t forget to nominate a deserving alumna for one or both of Seton Keough’s two new alumnae honors: The Athletic Hall of Fame and Distinguished Alumna awards. Both programs are open to Seton, Archbishop Keough, and Seton Keough alumnae. For award criteria and other information, visit the Alumnae page of the Seton Keough web site to view and download nomination forms: Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Form | Distinguished Alumnae Nomination Form. Please Note: The nomination period for the Athletic Hall of Fame has been extended until December 31 and the nomination form has been revised. If you have already submitted a nomination form, you do not need to re-submit. We will contact you for the additional information. Questions can be directed to Tracey Stone, Alumnae Director, at tstone@setonkeough.com or 410-646-4444 ext. 1216.

Seton Keough Alumnae License Plates: Introductory Deadline Extended
Show the pride you feel being a graduate of Seton Keough High School with a Seton Keough Alumnae license plate! The Maryland-only license plate will feature a green Seton Keough logo and 4 numbers, with the words "Seton Keough Alumnae" along the bottom. Click here to see Mt. St. Joe's alumni plate as an example. In order for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to design and offer these plates for sale, we must have a minimum of 25 people sign up and pay a $25 fee (our cost) for the plates. You DO NOT need to renew your vehicle registration in order to get the plates — once you receive your SK plate from MVA, simply return your old plate to them. The price will go up to $40 after the introductory period as a fundraising initiative for The Seton Keough Alumnae Association.  Deadline for the “introductory” price has been extended until Fri., Nov. 14, 2008. Please note: You do not have to be the car’s registered owner. Download an order form and instructions. Have questions not covered here or on the form? Contact Jennifer Palmer at jenniferhpalmer@yahoo.com or 410-255-2304.

What’s New With You…?
The following alumnae have told us their “story” since the June issue of Alumlines was published. If you have not sent in an update, we’d love to hear from you. Email your “story” to tstone@setonkeough.com.

Sharon Reif  Bastianelli  S'78
I am currently working at St. Joseph Medical Center in the medical records department of the cancer institute as a certified coding associate.  I have been married for 4 years and have one step-daughter.

Mary Jo Neville K’75
This summer I attended the Democratic National Convention as a “super” delegate. Having been a member of the Democratic National Committee for 17 years, this was my 5th convention as an automatic delegate and 7th convention overall. In 2000 I was honored to be part of the electoral college in Maryland, one of our state’s 10 electors.  I’ve been politically active for many years and am glad to share that enthusiasm with my husband, Bill Brown. I finally met the right one and we were married in 2000. We live in Howard County. Bill teaches music in Montgomery County and I have worked for the Maryland State Teachers Association for 18 years.

Tonya Martin K'85
I’m still living in Vancouver, BC, and am the Editorial Director of a new media/independent trade book publishing house.  I'm in charge of both the adult and children's list. I got married for the first time this past June, and Mark and I are now expecting a baby!

Tania Swift Schenk K’86
I am currently working with the Holistic Massage Training Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. You may benefit from attendance at this facility to explore the fantastic experiences that alternative medicine has to offer, both as a practitioner and a patient. You can find out more at holisticmassagetraining.org or by calling 410-243-4688.

Staci Snyder Cignatta, SK’90
My husband Dan and I just welcomed a new baby girl, Madison Lyn, to our family on 9/15/08.  She joins her 2-year old brother, Dylan.  We are all very happy and healthy.

Rebecca Conti-Vock, SK'04
After graduating from Boston University in May with a dual degree in Political Science and Sociology, I've since moved to San Diego, CA to begin my career as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. I will be an Ensign on the USS DUBUQUE (LPD 8), which is currently on a six-month deployment in the Pacific.
