Absence and Homework Policy
If your daughter must miss school due to illness please call the school to inform us of your daughter's absence no later than 9:30 a.m. Here is a review of our current homework procedures and our extended absence policy:
- Short-Term Absences: The student should contact a classmate to receive their daily class assignments and contact teachers via email for missed work and/or assignments. If a student is absent for several days, the student and/or parent should coordinate directly with each teacher regarding pick up and delivery times for missed assignments. After arrangements have been made, the student's assignments will be left at the front desk for the parents to pick up/return in the student's folder.
- Extended Absences: After 10 consecutive days of absences, parents are required to formally meet with Mrs. Bisceglia, the Vice Principal, to address the student's illness, missed assignments, and re-entry while also addressing possible home school tutoring for extended absences.
- Contact Information: Please contact your student's teacher via email or voice mail. The email directory and extensions for voicemail can be found on the Seton Keough Web site. Please be advised that the staff is not responsible for gathering homework assignments. (For specific school policy regarding absence/assignments, see page 10 of the Student Handbook).
