Academic Departments & Programs - Marillac Services

Marillac is a college-preparatory program designed for the success of young women with learning differences. Marillac is an inclusion model where students with documented differences are integrated into the regular high school curriculum, activities, and faith life.

The cornerstone of Marillac services is the educational support of the Study Skills Classes, which includes organizational skills, reading/writing remediation, and support in the content areas. The goal of the Study Skills Class is to teach student self-advocacy, an understanding of strengths and weaknesses, and the ability to communicate specific learning needs to faculty and staff. Our staff commitment to our students is the key to the success of our program.

Marillac Services involve the use of an inclusion model that integrates students and staff at every level. A 504 Plan is formulated for each student. In addition, extensive monitoring of progress in the content areas, and a specific Study Skills curriculum are all part of a philosophy, which includes accepting students with diverse learning needs. Our Admissions Policy is to accept a limited number of students that qualify for these services in order to maintain a quality, individualized approach. For more information about the Marillac Program, contact the Office of Admissions.
