Arts Program: Launching Fall 2012

Seton Keough High School will be adding a special fine arts focus for the 2012-2013 school year. Students will have the opportunity to focus on a specific art area: Visual Arts, Music (instrumental and vocal), Theatre, Dance – or to combine Music, Theatre and Dance.

In addition to the courses that are part of a student’s graduation requirements, students focusing on the arts will take two classes in their major area. For example, music majors might take concert band and piano in their freshman year or visual arts students might take Art Appreciation and Photography in their sophomore year. In the Music, Theatre and Dance majors all seniors will have the opportunity to do independent study in conducting, directing, stage management and then actually conduct, direct or manage student productions at Seton Keough.

Students will be required to complete a special Fine Arts Application, in addition to the standard Seton Keough application, and audition with someone from the major they are selecting.
